Bituminous emulsions are made from classical road as well as road modified bitumen. Cation-active bituminous emulsions have been currently used both for repairs of pot holes, and for joining sprays, or recycling technologies. Cation-active emulsions bear a positive charge and solutions of acids are used as emulsifiers. In addition to the environmental friendly nature of these emulsions, they are also highly cost-saving.
Cold recycling of pavements is a relatively little used technology in our country, which is highly advantageous in repairs of less loaded roads. During construction and repairs of forest and access roads it is suitable to use special spray of bituminous emulsion which is able to consolidate roads with a low operating load sufficiently.
