General Characteristics of Diesel Fuel
Diesel fuels are mixtures of liquid hydrocarbons obtained from crude oil by distillation and hydrotreatment which boil in the range of 150 to 370 °C. Diesel fuels may contain additives to improve performance, such as depressants, detergents, lubricants and corrosion inhibitors.
Additive diesel improves some fuel properties:
- The anti-corrosion property of the fuel prolongs the life of the engine and protects its sensitive parts
- Its composition suppresses the formation of emulsions and deposits, which protects the engine against wear, reduces its noise and reduces mechanical stress on the engine crank mechanism
- Due to the lower foaming, it facilitates refuelling in vehicles at petrol stations

Use
New-generation of additive diesel is used as fuel for diesel engines. Its main advantages
are reduced fuel consumption, reduced emissions, higher performance and
protection of the sensitive parts of the engine and fuel system against
corrosion.
Packing, Storage, Transport
Additive diesel is supplied in road tankers. Relevant legal
provisions must be observed during storage, transport and handling.
Basic Safety Data
Diesel fuel is a clear yellowish to yellow flammable liquid of hazard class III
with a flash point above 55 °C.
The product is classified as
hazardous in the sense of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 CLP.
